Vice President, Engineering
Wray leads specialized teams engaged in the research, development, architecture and delivery of advanced engineering solutions. To ensure performance requirements are clearly understood, monitored and achieved, Wray works collaboratively with IDX’s business partners to oversee the operation of client sites.
Wray has spent more than 30 years in the field of information technology and telecommunications. He has held senior executive positions with EPCOR and TELUS, as well as several start-up telecommunication companies.
One of the highlights of his career was leading a 250-member IT department through a significant employee engagement and productivity turnaround. He oversaw the design, build and implementation of two Tier III data centres with N+1 fault tolerance that support critical government infrastructure.
Wray holds an ICD.D certification from the Institute of Corporate Directors and Rotman School of Management and is a graduate of the Queen’s School of Business Executive Program.
Wray is the Past Chairman of the Board with the not-for-profit Edmonton Mennonite Centre for Newcomers and served on the board of a high-tech 3D imaging company that produces oral prosthetics. He is also a member of the Chamber of Commerce Trade and Market Access Committee. When outside the office, Wray enjoys traveling, fishing and boating with his family, and has an avid love for the ukulele.
